Jumpin to a loose higher limit game, Hatchet Harry, 25. Mar 2003 16:27

Ok here's the scene. I've been playin online just over a year, and i'm proud to say that with about 700 bucks invested in various litreture, opening losses etc, I'm now the proud owner of a 4.5K bankroll.
I play 4 american based sites, and 2 UK sites.
At paradise (which i rate the toughest) i beat the 2/4 game for about 0.75 BB p/hr. (A compliment to the skill of the US players in general)
However, I've been moppin up the UK sites to about 4 - 5 BB p/hr at similar limits. It seems that learning my trade on paradise was the best thing I ever did. UK players (in general) tend to way overvalue hands being that NL & PL is there main game, and when it comes to limit these guy's still think they can just buy pots.

Anyway the point of my post is that even a full 10/20 or 20/40 games has 60% averages seeing flop and 5-7 BB's average pots.
I know i get killed at paradise at these levels, but with the above stats should i be taking advantage of these situations.

IE even as a 20/40 pro, would you be happy to jump into a 50/100 game if you knew you were playing in a real live game. My confort zone is 2/4 - 4/8 at which i can function without the stakes being an issue, but i'm cautious to take advantage of these situation as being outside that zone might outweigh any advantage that I would have based on my skills. Saying that I beleive my game is good enough to beat these guy's.

I'm sure you get the point, but your thougths would be very much appreciated.
Also be reassured that I would only make the jump under my own terms, but not coming here for adivce would be like going to court without a solicitor.

As alway's any responses are very much appreciated.

Regards
HH

There's nothing wrong with moving up to a higher limit, but I would suggest that you only move up to play at games that you know you can beat, and you make sure that your bankroll is sufficient for the game - suggested is 300 Big Bets.

Pick a day that you feel good about your self and your game. For example you are really in the mood to play and looking forward to running the table ie. playing tight but when playing raising and 3 beting
with your size of bank roll you can take a shoot once or twice and even if you lose you will still have a good bankroll for your usual limits.
Worst case scenario is that you lose but if you are observant enough you will pick up some new plays that you have never seen or used before and a lots of stuff to think about which ulltimatelly will improve your game.
In a nut shell go for it when you feel good !!!
Good Luck
