Would appreciated your comments on these two hands.

Hand 1:
I raise UTG with Jh Jd. It gets passed around to the SB who call. BB fold.

Flop: Kc Qc 5h

SB bets out. I fold.

Hand 2:
One orbit later, UTG with Jd Js and I raise. Only SB calls.

Flop: Kd Kh 3d

I bet out. SB folds.

Thanks in advance.

I thought they were both well played, but very standard. How did you bet out on the flop in the second hand, or was it checked too you?

I agree with the second hand play, but I might raise the flop with the first hand on the off chance that the SB is bluffing. The worst that will generally happen is that you lose 1 more small bet, as most of the time they will just call and then check the turn. So, you get to see two more cards for 1 SB and maybe you get lucky and hit a Jack.

I think you played them both just fine. These are very standard ways for this hand to play out. A lot of people tend to overvalue jacks...when two higher cards like this come and neither is an ace, it is good to realize that you are in trouble and get out. A lot of low limit players will call you here in the SB with all kinds of king and queen hands - you're best to move along and try them again.

As for jacks with the kings, that's a place where I would raise and depending on the player call or fold to a reraise.
