Why do 90% of non winning players muck their hands after they see they have lost? Its my oppinion that if you bet the hand, you should show it.Ive been playing poker in casinos for 9 yrs now, which isnt all that long, but I have yet to see anyone ever do this.In fact it wasnt until I started playing online that I knew this could be done.Fact is if you are gonna bluff your way to the river and then lose, you should show it and accept the fact that you bluffed and got caught.Anyone else share my oppinions,or disagree?

I dont think you should ever show dont a loser if you dont have to. It gives away too much free information about your play similarly I will bet a sure winner or a maybe winner even if I Know the opponents are inferior and will fold so I dont have to show down unless I have to. Forget ego and pride here and dont give away unnessisary information unless you have a specific profitable reason for doing so and never show it when someone sucks out on you . you want them not to know what you had and encourage to make even more foolish calls bet and raises.

I agree with timmer, here. I am trying to win *every* hand that I play without having to show them down, that is why I play them aggressively. (That, and it is the best way to win.) If I don't have to show my hand to claim the pot, why show it?

That being said, if I bet and am called I will turn it up immediately. When called, the last player to take aggressive action on a hand should always be the first to show. Doing otherwise merely slows down the game and [slow-rolling a winner] is just pain rude.

As Capt. Woodrow Call said, "I hate rude behavior in a man, I won't tolerate it." This was, of course, to punctuate the beating of a man (probably a slow-rolling sum-b*tch) with a branding iron.

Yes, to add to this already loud chorus, I don't show my cards except for three reasons:

1) I have to show them.
2) I bluffed somebody out and think I can tilt them by exposing the bluff, or think that it would be good for my table image to advertise myself as a bluffer.
3) I've just lost a wonderful made flop to running quads, show my cards, and go for a walk in disgust.

I try very hard never to do 3...I think it is excusable for a player to do once every 1000 hours of play or so.

I learn just as much, if not more, from what people show me while losing, than when I see their winning cards. PERIOD!!

No other profession exposes their playbook, why should I?
