| I am currently reading the No Limit Hold'em section in Super System which I'm sure most of you are familiar with. The problem that I'm having is that I am questioning my style of play. My friends and those I play with consider me a tight and aggressive player, they always expect me to showdown solid hands and know they will have to pay to draw. I am a consisten winner at NLHE winning on average 30-40 a night with .25-.50 blinds. I have read many books where they preach super tight play and dont get involved w/o the nuts. I was just wondering if the super aggressive style Brunson preaches is as good as it sounds and if I should change my style. | ||

Hi, Ross -- The super-agressive style that Doyle Brunson preaches is, indeed, the best way to make money against weak, but semi-knowlegeable opponents. It also works well against many stronger players who tend to play the way you describe yourself as playing. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with how you're doing it, and -- in fact -- your style may be best in games against loose, unsophisticated opponents. Straight Flushes, Mike Caro

| Thanks alot for replying Mr. Caro. I was hoping you would reply to my message seeing as how you had a hand in writing the book. I really appreciate your reply and know I can trust it since you are the "mad genius of poker" | ||

I started playing Holdem last fall, and have been doing fine in limit and tourney play, so far My first book was Holdem for advanced players, and before I had any bad habbits, it started me out in the right direction Is Super System the title of this book you are refering to? Thanks, Rick K

| You should also keep in mind that the No-limit section was written for live, big money games. Although many general concepts are covered in Super System, you should understand that the no-limit internet poker at low stakes is a different game. There is a big difference in some aspects of play and psychology of the bigger games. -Zeno | ||
