The rake. Is $3 on 2-4 too much?, Fox, 9. Mar 2003 20:47

I've noticed lately that seemingly a lot of money "leaves" the table over the course of play at the 2-4 tables. The rake is $3 per hand. At 15 (good est?) hands an hour, that's $45/hr. And it seems to me that a lot of money needs to constantly be added to the table, w/o any particular stacks growing.

What's the thought on this? Or am I just hallucinating?

Probably more like 25-30 hands per hour, but a few won't achieve the full rake. Figure on $80 per hour going down the hole. It might become unplayable when there's a seat open and no waiting list.
