Low Lime ($2-$4) minimizing losses or maximizing winnings, Fox, 9. Mar 2003 20:40 | ||

| I would like some advice for the 2-4 tables (CA). It seems to me, this table is more about minimizing your losses than maximizing your gains. I play decent poker, strong starting hands, not being a calling station etc., (I need work on reading people better) but it doesn't seem to matter that much in 2-4. You need the best cards to win. When I get the cards I win, when I don't, I just minimize my losses. I'd like to move up to 3-6 and 4-8. Is the play much tougher at these levels and is playing at the 2-4 table undermining my abilities to play at the larger stakes tables? Or, should I consistantly be able to win at 2-4 before moving up? | ||

| You probably find the same caliber of play at California 3-6 that you do at 2-4. In fact it might be somewhat looser since it wouldn't be the absolute lowest game in the card room. At the very lowest limits you might still find some players who are learning to play right. Try to take some shots at 3-6 occasionally, since you may be waiting a long time at 2-4 before it becomes apparent you are beating the table consistently. 4-8 will be somewhat tougher, but should be worth moving up to when you are comfortable. The rake will have less of an impact at 4-8, and results there will start to really show you if you are indeed a winning player. | ||
