| Some comments please on how you feel when someone is reading and or writing while at that table. I've seen people referring to starting hand charts, as well as taking notes about players seated at the table, even reading books about hold-em. Thoughts? | ||

I love to see a player at my table reading a newspaper or book, reading a chart, whatever. It gives me a huge edge over him. For one thing, when he doesn't read, it usually means that he is paying attention to what is going on at the game, so it means he folded a hand that would have been good had he played his cards. I just sit there and wait for the guy to lower his book and shake his head when the board comes three suited cards. Second, it means that he is not paying attention to me, so he's not picking up on any tells I'm giving off, etc. Generally speaking (and I know this isn't 100%), the people who read at the table are mediocre players and they will pay off good players, so play well and welcome them to your table. | ||
