Whats the best way to get back in the game?, Ryan Gallagan, 7. Mar 2003 08:45

First I will give a little background info. I have been playing for about two years at a Canterbury Park in Shokopee Minnesota. I have taken a short break from the game to keep my bank roll above water.
Enough said. I was wondering what way is the best to get back in the game, tournaments or live play? My bank roll is between 5 and 10k and I am hopping to put enough together to take next winter off from work and play poker only. ANY Thoughts would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to contact me directly my email address is rgallagan@yahoo.com
Thank You

If you're looking to play semi-professionally, then live games is the way to go (at least at first anyways). This is simply because live games produce much more consistent results than tournaments. Even great tournament pros can have long cold streaks without a big score.

My best advice would be for you too stick to the limits that your bankroll can handle. Tunica has some good 10-20 limit holdem games with a fair rake. The Horseshoe is the nuts down there. They have a great staff and treat poker players like royalty in comparison to most places. Good luck!
