Ok so at the casino I play at and a few others I usually know how most of the players play. IE Who is capable of check raising the turn with nothing and a pair onboard, who doesn't slow play and who can make it three big bets without the nuts. The other day I played 9-18 with a bunch of rather loose players and 1 pro. I had AK spades on the button but seeing as there were 8 players already in a raise would have not thinned the field and if I raised even if I flopped an A or K the pot with give somebody sufficent odds to chase 2 pair, a gut shot etc. So I limped in and the flop comes AA10, with 2 diamonds. Well the small blind comes out betting, so now I know who has the other ace. one guy cold calls so I'm sure he needs a diamond and the pro also cold calls. I know the pro doesn't have A rag and wouldn't cold call a flush with a pair on board. Turn brings a blank and the SB bets again, two more cold calls and I raise. Two more call the raise and the pro 3 bets. Here I know that he wouldn't three bet without a full house and since the SB I'm certain has an A I'm 99% sure he has pockets 10's. I call the third bet as does everyone else and the river brings a deuce of diamonds. SB checks, limper checks (with whats turns out to KJ diamonds). Pro bets his pocket 10's I fold and the other 2 call. SB ends up winning it with A2 off suit. In a game where I don't know how others play I have to call him on the river. Is this how you have to play at a table of unknowns? Call them down with a strong hands that you are almost positive will be losers?
