Help needed in the Blinds, Hatchet Harry, 4. Mar 2003 15:59

After recently investing in Poker Tracker (Thx all that posted about it!) I have noticed that I may need some serious work on my play in the Blind Positions. This has prompted me to post the following 2 queries.
1) What sort of earnings do you expect from the blind positions (IE is break even or a small loss expected)

2) Based on 470 hands at $2/4 (6.1hrs) (which i know is not really enough!) I am positive to the effect of 1.3 BB p/hr. However, my losses in the BB (58 hands) & SB (57 hands) are $81 & $124 respectively.
The only contributing factors which I can add are that in the BB I have absolutely no pre-flop raises and the small blind my pre-flop raises are 12.28%.
After looking, i've managed to get drawn out on the river for a couple of large losses which would improve the SB picture, but generally it's my impression that I may be too aggresive in the SB & too passive in the BB.
I know the information is sketchy but if there is anything that can be derived from the above then your comments would be more than welcome.
In the meantime, I'll get back to the books!

Thx in advance.
HH

hi harry,

Can you tell me about pokertracker.
What does it do , does it work automatic or do you have to put data in yourself.
Did you get it in the U.K at what cost.
Lot of Questions?????.
Sorry, just intersted in improving my game and visualising my mistakes.

I figure poker tracker is the nearest thing i'll get to cheating without actually breaking the rules. I'm not too disciplined keeping in depth player notes while i'm at the table, but being able to load the players your up against into poker tracker and view their historic play is invaluable. Also the feeback it gives you on your own play is frightening to say the least.
Getting the data into poker tracker could'nt be easier, it's just a case of downloading an e-mail as a text file then importing it into the programme.
Also I have to say that Pat Isaac (who I beleive built the software?) has been a wealth of help in answering some of my initial queries
As for the price, well it's a wheel, it's a deal, it's sale of the bloody century. At $25 your taking the mans shoes while he's still standin in em!

Seriously, it's a good buy .........But don't tell everyone :-)

Good luck
H

"I have noticed that I may need some serious work on my play in the Blind Positions. "

HH,

I used to need serious work on playing the blinds too. I got serious, but nothing worked. So I worked on folding the blinds instead of playing them, and that HAS worked.
