| I finally watched the 2002 WSOP with Gabe Kaplan and some other dude as commentators. My boss told me that a Van Patton (one of the children of Dick Patton) was the commentator on a version he watched. Does anyone know if this was produced by two or more different groups and had different commentators? One of the reasons that I'm curious, is that my boss asked me to explain something VanPatton said on the final hand, something akin to "if the cards came up in a different order, the other guy would have won". I tried to explain to my boss that it wouldn't have mattered but he was confused by the comment. Can anyone offer me help so I can brown nose my boss some. | ||

| I think Vince Van Patton (Dick Van Patton's Son) did commentary on the 1999 (Scotty Ngyen) broadcast. I often hear people say that Dick Van Patton has done commentary in the past, but I don't know if that's true, or they're confusing Vince and Dick. The only thing I can think about the "if the cards had come out in a different order" comment is that it may have affected the play of the hand. If a scare card had come before the winning player made his hand, he might have folded. Example, one player flops a flush, but the other player makes a set on the turn or river. If the set had flopped his hand, perhaps the flush draw would have folded. Jeff | ||
