| This has been going on for several days now...I just pulled my money out till they get things straightened out. I really used to like PR, but their recent problems with the SQL slammer worm and subsequent dOs attack has me concerned...this is something all system administrators should now about, microsoft had the fix available weeks (possibly months?) before someone exploited the vulnerability. I'm just a college student and I know better...If I was running a multi-million dollar business dependent upon my sever being up and running I'd definately be checking these things on a daily basis. Why aren't they? I'm not giving up on them completely, but I'm hoping they get their act together. Jason | ||

| Hi, We are sorry about any inconvenience caused by recent problems. However I would like to clarify a few things regarding this situation. On Jan 25, the MS SQL Slammer worm struck the Internet. The worm caused downtime on many sites by consuming all available bandwidth. Most sites affected were not infected, but rather victims of flooded networks with no bandwidth left to serve site content. PokerRoom was NOT infected by the worm. However, other clients at our ISP were infected by the worm. Those machines consumed all available bandwidth which caused countrywide problems. It took about 10 hours for the ISP to handle this problem. On Feb 22, our ISP had problems with denial-of-service attacks which caused downtime for about 4 hours. The very nature of a denial-of-service attack makes it hard to completely prevent them. Our servers were not hacked or infected in any way, but we were again the victim of flooded networks due to countrywide denial-of-service attacks. We are currently discussing with our ISP how to improve the situation. Please rest assured that PokerRoom.com is a safe site. Our policy is that players affected by connection problems on our end are refunded.
