| It depends on what he wants to play. If he wants middle limit games, the Belagio and Mirage are the best choices. If he wants to play low-limt games, the Bellagio and Mirage are the worst choices for these reasons. 1. The low-limit rake is higher at the Bellagio and Mirage than at any other room on the Strip. All the rooms have a $4 total rake but the smaller rooms have jackpots and bonuses. Essentially, you have a freeroll at all the smaller rooms. 2. Some of the smaller rooms, especially the Monte Carlo, are much better run than either the Mirage or Bellagio. They focus their attention on their low-limit players whereas the big rooms don't give a damn. 3. The comps at all the smaller rooms are considerably more generous than at the Bellagio or Mirage. I also think the action is better at the smaller rooms but that's a bit subjective. | ||

Jackpots are a fukin rip off where you cant always win it but you always have to pay for it. case in point. you have a small pot that was checked down and won by a miracle str8 flush on the river when the leader trys for a check raise 5% of the money in the pot was taxed off by the jackpot. at the end the pot contains a $2.00 blind a call a raise a nd a call. the flop theres a bet and a call. the turn and river are checked. total pot 2+2+2+4+4+4+4=18 total jack pot rake $.75 (4.17%) total jack pot moneys awarded for srt8flush $0.00 if you every run into a deal where you cant always win but you can always lose walk the other way cuz thats no deal friends,whatsoever. > > 3. | Wanted to see if I needed my password. Hello Timmer, 1) The Palace game never lasted. 2) Real rake & posted rake are not the same thing (That's very, very important & I've never seen anything written about it, btw). 3) Your take on the Excalibur game is way off. Like light years off dude. I have logged many hours there over the years while waiting for a hold'em seat and what you were able to gather from your research project outing, is far from reality. It's the best place to play if you are a 1-5 player, even with their posted rake. And the room has more gambling tourists then any other 1-5 in town on most nights. 4) Jackpot games & High Hand games can be very good games. If they are filled with the right people (which they almost always are). 5) The Mirage & Bellagio comps can be very good if they are used in a proper balance of hit & run card room play. Used in that fashion, they are a steal. 6) Come back to 2+2 some time timmer, we miss you. Best of Luck Howard | ||
