| Hi again. I already asked a probability related question a few weeks ago and was directed to the very helpful "twodimes.net" site. I have another question. Is there somewhere where I can check the probability that my, say pair of tens or A,K is leading before the flop with differing amounts of players in a hand ? Any help on this would be great, Terry. | ||

| Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but you may want to check out https://www.pokerroom.com/evstats/?=ref908 . It lists the EV for different starting hands based on position and numver of players based on empirical data (based on actual play in the pokerroom.com games). | ||

| I think this is a relatively easy one. After you've been dealt two cards, there are 1225 possible two card hands that your opponents could have. So, count the number of hands that can beat yours and divide that number by 1225. Say you've got 10-10, then J-J, Q-Q, K-K, and A-A, beat you. Since there's 6 ways of being dealt each of those hands there are 24 hands, out of 1225, that are better than yours. 24/1225 * (number of players, excluding you) = the probablitity that someone has a better hand, preflop. Peter. Count number of hands as follows: x!/(y!(x-y)!, where x is the total number of cards, and y is the number of cards in one hand, this is often written as C(x,y), and read as "x choose y." E.g. 50 cards left, two card hand, then, C(50,2) = 50! / (2!)(50 - 2)! = 1225; and on 8. Feb 2003 18:08 Terry O'Neill wrote: > Hi again.
