Q about: "Don’t make a bet on the end that will be called only if you are beaten", johnny, 6. Feb 2003 07:34 | ||

| Hi, I'm new to poker. I've only been playing five weeks now. I just read Andy Glazer's article over at cardplayer.com called "A New Take on the ‘You Get Called Only When You’re Beaten’ Bet." It seems like good advice, but how strictly/tightly do you adhere to it? If you get down to the river, do you not bet if you don't have the absolute nuts? Twice last night I had a King high flush on the river and bet into someone with the nuts flush. Those two hands costs me most of my money. Should I have checked those or was I right in betting? Sorry if these questions seem elementary. I'm very new to all this. Thanks. Johnny. | ||
