Dear Roy,
I want to ask a simple question, I would like a simple yes or no. Can a person of above average skills w/below average bankroll make a living playing poker? To expand, I am moving to Las Vegas in 1 month(3/1/03). I win frequently in my home town games (5/10 & 10/20) holdem. That is to say, I win $100 - $500 a week when doing well and minimize losses when not doing well. So, in todays vast world of holdem poker in Vegas, can a semi-pro like myself make the transition to poker proffesional based on winning weekly/monthly in Las Vegas? Also, any additional information you could give me such as best rooms to play etc. would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Rod Linville.

Hi, Rod --

I think Roy has been away from here for a few days, but I e-mailed him about your post, and I expect you'll hear from him soon.

Straight Flushes,

Hi Rod

You will face a different level of competition when you get to Vegas than you do in your home game. In answer to your question....no.... I would think you would need to improve your game to win enough to make a living
