Recently at a home game I had AA in the hole in MP. Utg limps in I raise LP reraises all fold to me. I cap it. Flop Q 7 2 rainbow I bet LP raises I re raise LP calls. Turn is 6 i check LP bets I raise Lp calls.
River is a 4 no flush possible. I bet Lp raises I call. He turns over 44.
My question is did I play this correct ?
And how far do people normally go with low pocket pairs?

I wouldn't have gone nearly as far. I would have folded 44 pre-flop when somebody raised in front of me.

In answer to your question Joel, you played it fine and you can expect mediocre to bad players to stay until the river with small pairs. They do it all the time and they aren't going to stop.
