| only thing that bugs me about coverage of the 2002 WSOP is this... you know there's gonna give a bunch of coverage to the Hellmuth "I'll shave my head if he wins!" comment...Phil is trying to build a personality for people to look to....a celebrity status to himself and this doesn't help... I think he's getting way too much coverage as it is...his attitude annoys me and if I ever find myself across the table from him, I'll do everything I can to dish it out as good as he can shovel it in... | I have to disagree with you. I believe that Helmuth's character antics can be good for the future of Poker. I believe the general population that watches these shows and furture poker shows, will explicitly remember Phil and his character. Most of the viewers will be novice or completely new to poker. If they either love him or hate him (most probably the latter), they will tune in to see what he does next. Therefore it should increase viewship which will hopefully lead to some sort of sponsorship in the future. I must admit it would be fun to do verbal battle with Phil at a final table. | ||
