| Over the weekend I played in my first live no hold'em tournament. Most of the 70 players played for recreation and were not talented card players. When I made it to the final table I was the second shortest stack with one chip more than the two blinds would cost me. There were 10 players at the table with only 9 getting paid. The player to my left had one chip left. I got in a pot with A5 suited for the minimum amount. Now here is the question that has been bothering me all week. The flop came 467 rainbow. I checked and the button bet me all in. This was a new player that I haven't played with. I folded. On hindsight I think that was a mistake. I had 8 outs for a straight and 3 for the ace. I believe I folded on a position bet and have been kicking myself all week. Please, all comments welcome. Brent | ||

| There's no guarantee that the player on your left will not win one of the two blind hands, making you the shortest stack. However, it is more likely that player will get eliminated than you have of catching your draw (and it winning) on this hand. Therefore I would have folded in your spot too. The important thing is to get into the money, so I would wait and see if someone gets knocked out first. I'd have to flop something where I thought I was about a 4:1 favorite out of an unraised big blind, to go all-in on the bubble when someone else could be all-in on their blinds in the next few hands. I'm assuming you saw the flop with the suited ace out of the big blind yourself. I wouldn't play it at all if I could survive the blinds without being all-in, and another player could not. | ||
