AA,KK Ten Times in 1 hr., hug durden, 15. Jan 2003 02:58

I played in a Tournament in Tunica Monday and got AA five times, KK five times and two sets, and a pair of Q,s all in the first hour off play.

The game was limit hold-em and I lost 2k in chips during the play of tthese hands. I was head up for 8 of the pots with very safe flops. The hands that I can recall were:

KK against k2 off, he was a short stack and made a flush with the 2
AA against 45 of clubs, he turned trips, three way action
AA against k10 off ,head up, he made a gut shot on the river
set of 3's ,on the buttion, ect, ect ...all of the hands were like this, I was not up against a group of calling stations.

I am a 54 year old man with 35 years of experience and have never seen any thing like this before. I asked Cowboy Wolford if he had experienced or seen this kind of luck and he said no!

Please respond with comments,

Regards,

My interest is in the frequency of AA and KK in a 60 min. period. I know that AA should come in about 1 in 221or so. This was like a dream with bad results. I have only seen set on set on set in 20 years of hold-em play and recall Roy saying that he had that happen twice several years ago.

Again thanks for your feedback Mike, Roy and others.

Like all poker players, hearing your bad beat story immediately reminds me of one of my own.

I played a local tournament and in my first 6 or 7 hands I received AA, KK, QQ, and JJ, although not in that particular order. I of course lost on all of them, and was out of the tournament before the button reached me :-).

Thanks veryk much for your comments! It sure was a nightmare! I had AA 5 out of 9 times with only 1 or 2 players seeing the flop. I lost 4 out of 5 times, same with the kings. Sure was a lot of group 1 hands for 55min. of play, not to mention the 2 sets I had. I also lost to a 1 outer in 12th place last year at the wpo. I was 4th in chips at the time, he was third. He made the case 10 to make 10's full against AJ with a board of JJ4310.
