No Limit Tourney Betting Strategy?, bruh, 10. Jan 2003 08:57

I will be playing in my first No Limit tourney this weekend and I'm a little unsure of how (much) I should bet on particular hands. I play a lot of limit hold 'em, and often do well in NL tourneys on Party Poker and Paradise, but do those mostly by "feel". From what I know, this tourney will start every player w/ $500 in chips and the blinds will go up in the "Texas tiers" structure. I'm not sure, but I'd assume the blinds will start at 5/10.

Any suggestions in how I should bet hands or betting strategies? I've often heard you don't call in NL, either raise or fold. Is this usually true? Thanks for the help.

Micheal
