| I want to thank everyone for participating in the pioneering months of this new forum. Our new website, housing MCU, will be opening soon and will channel much more traffic here. Meanwhile, let's share the Christmas spirit, whether we're Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, agnostic, or whatever. And no matter where we live on earth, you and I have poker in common. And that puts us on the same team and makes us friends. Staight Flushes, Mike Caro | ||

| Thanks for your greetings Mike. This site is a nice addition to the poker world. On the subject of peace on earth and poker, think about what a better world it would be if all of the people on earth including the soldiers, their colonel's, and general's played poker. There would probably be just as much warfare but it would be a lot easier finding a good game. Ashley Adams on 24. | I'm not so sure I would like to have a general get on a bad beat. Actually there were many politicians and I've heard stories of generals and other brass that played a lot of poker...............John Pinney | ||

When I lived in Gardena, California (the then "Poker Capital of the World"), I visited the local newspaper, the Gardena Valley News, and they had a history of the city on file. According to the scholarly research paper, the land on which one of the casinos stood changed hands during a poker game. Straight Flushes, Mike Caro | ||

I did a seminar in Amsterdam six or seven years ago. I hope to go back sometime. Other than the city itself, the thing that sticks most in my mind was a story in a national newspaper about me. I couldn't read the language, but one word describing me in the headline gave me a good laugh -- "Pokergod." Now, I know that the Dutch sometimes combine words to form a single one -- it's natural to the language -- and I know "god" doesn't really mean "god," but I liked the headline, anyway.
