No-limit Hold'em hand, CapnD, 9. Dec 2002 14:38

3/5 blinds, no-limit hold'em. Playing 6 handed. I have AdKd in the cutoff. Folded to me, I raise to 25. Loose aggressive player in the BB defends. LAP is probably the best player at the table (better than me), although he is a little to loose pre-flop. He is extremely good at reading people. LAP has about 250, and I have a huge stack. I've been running over the table the last hour.

One of the reasons I raised is because he is such a good player. I would rather have the 15 in blinds, and go to the next hand where I can pick on weak players.

Anyway, the flop comes AcKs5c. LAP comes out betting $50.

Whats my move?

raise four fifths his stack and watch him fold or go all in hoping for a miracle

Raise enough to put him all-in now. You said you didn't mind picking up a small pot, so it's okay if he folds. There's nothing to be gained by calling and making a move on the turn, and you could let a miracle card fall. He's either going to fold or go all-in with AA , KK, or AK. If you don't have the best hand with aces and kings, then you just got cold decked.

I went all in. He thought for a LOOOONNNGGGG time and threw AQ face up.

I think if I had slow-played I could have milked him for a lot more money. But I also could have been bluffed out if a club hit, so maybe my play was still right.

I would raise 2/3 of his stack. He might have you beat with a set, but you can't be afraid of everything....lol

Hope he did not hit 55.
