UB had a turn for their top 300 players. Top 40 payed of. At this point we were 11 remaining and I had the 5th biggest stack with 18 000 in chips. I was on the big blind, ( big blind was around 1500) with pocket 6. Everyone folded to the chipleader who was on the button.
He made it 5000.

He had raised alot in this position since alot of players were playing tight. I put him on high cards and was convinced that he would fold most of his possible hands if I went allin. I raised allin, he though for a long time and called with 99 and I busted out.

Was the move correct, or what hand do I need to get involved in the pot. I had two choises allin or fold. And I cant play to careful since the blinds are increasing and I cant let him raise my blind every round, but then again as 11th finisher I only got 40 bucks compaired to 1500 for 1th prize.

I really don't like this move against a big stack at this point of a tournament. Even if all the big stack has is two big cards, he is still about even odds against your hand, and calling your raise does not put him out of the tourney. You are in the tough spot of either being slightly ahead, or way behind. At this point in a tourney, I would be picking on the smaller stacks, and try not to get tangled up with a big stack unless I have a premium hand (probably something like pocket Q's or better to call a large raise) unless I have a really good read.
