If, as in the example given, there are 7 bets in the pot, it is 1 bet to you and there are players still to act behind, there is no way to be certain what odds you will get on that round of betting. The best that you can do is to guess what action there will be after yours and make an estimate of what odds you are likely to end up with. This problem becomes less sever the later that you have to act. If you have to act early in the betting order and you have a hand that is a borderline call for 1 bet, often you will have to fold that hand. If you do not have a good read on the players still to act, then you can not be sure if there will be a raise (and perhaps a reraise), that would turn your borderline call into a clear fold. The later that you act the more information you will have to help decide if you can play your had profitably. Snorbolus | ||

| let's see, 7 in the pot +1 your call +1 the raise which you call +4 two from the other two players looks like 13 to me | ||
