| Past two days i`ve played the mega no limit partypoker tournies my first day i ended 32nd out of 724 yesterday i ended up 37th out of 764..Yesterday i held premium drawing hands but towards the end missed every flop and stealing or bluffing at this table(s) was impossible.. Now heres the real astounding part there was one player for some odd reason we were moved together many times throughout the tourney.. This player played all hands and occassionally folded just to acknowledge likely to ones self that he she can fold the odd hand.. I felt the folded hands were of the premium variety.. this player played consistently 62o 94o 72o etc etc and hit very often and was close to chip leader when i busted out.. I just wanted to pass on this bizzare occurence cause i likely will not see it again so late in an event in this lifetime.. jim | ||

| I know a regular player who plays those kinds of low card holdings all the time. His "explanation" is that when the flop comes low, it helps him out, but all the "suckers" with the high cards don't get any help. Thus the high card players will continue calling, unaware of his "monster" hand. Well, he may be crazy, but at least there's a method to his madness. P.S. I've never seen him leave the table with chips. | ||

| You don't get a monster often enough. You get some straight or flush draws that are vulnerable to higher straights or flushes. You get some middle or bottom pairs that you end up seeing the turn with. Moreover, you will be playing more than twice as many hands as a solid player. You're not going to be throwing away big cards like AK, you'll be playing those too. That means you'll be paying more rake, and having a bigger variance. If you're going to play small cards, pick your spots. Blind defense, blind steals, multiway late position limps. In order to play the small cards you must be able to play very well after the flop. | ||

| Actually there's an interesting book called "No Fold'em Hold'em." I can't remember the author's name, something like D. R. Sheare. It has influenced my loose game play, late position play, and blind play. The book should be an ingredient not a recipe. Jeff | ||
