I was hoping to get some info on general stradegy in the following situation.

I'm in a single table tournament. My play was fairly tight until the last couple of rounds were i loosened up and made 5 hands in a row. I'm back to conservative mode and watch as players eliminate each other until its down to just 2. There is exactly 8000 in chips at the table, the blinds are 500 and 1000, the limits are 1000-2000.

I start off with a chip lead but soon we are trading the lead back and forth.

MY OPPONENT
PRE-FLOP
My opponent is conservative and only pre-flop raises with solid hands (middle PP and better, 2 face cards)
He throws away about 40-50% of his small blinds.
If he calls his SB or is in the BB he will defend against a raise about 75% of the time.

POST-FLOP
My opponent only bets with top pair of better, but will call with middle pair, and sometimes less.

Many hands get checked down, and we will both check down strong hands looking to check raise.

How do I play against this opponent? With the limits so big, one losing hand will bust me.
