| Six callers including the button and small blind. I have 7h6d in the big blind, and check. Flop comes 9s 5d 5h, and everyone checks around. Turn is the Qc, and again everyone checks. I decide this is a good situation for a play I use maybe half a dozen times a year. I said to the dealer, "Put a three up there" while he was burning the top card. The 3h came off the deck, and then I caught another break. Before the small blind could check, the player on my left said, "I ain't paying off a man who gets what he called for." I bet, and everyone mucked. I'm not known to be an actor at the table, and I rarely do this. Sometimes you see someone ask for no more clubs or another club, but this is so transparent coming from an actor. You can be sure he has the ace when he asks for no more clubs, or the small flush when he wants a fourth one. I know I can't use this play too much, and even if I got called I figure to get paid off a few times later on when I may not have otherwise. Mike Caro, will I spoil this kind of move if I attempt it too much more often than I have been? I'm not a natural talker at the table, just a tight aggressive daily grinder paying the bills. Does anyone have similar ways to buy pots that they don't mind illustrating? | ||

| Hi Andy How much you can use the play will depend on the awareness of your opponets. I would use it untill they figure it out and them mix it up. In poker you must constantly adjust you plays to the knowledge level of your opponets and that knowledge level constantly changes. Roy Cooke on 13.
