| Here is the deal, I have been a lurker at the 2 plus 2 site for the last year, and recently found this site. I have found this site to be very insightful and was wondering if some of you would mind giving me your opinions on a question. What online poker site do you feel is the absolute best out there? I have recently played at Paradise and in the past played at Planet, Party, and the Highlands Club. I wish Highlands Club was still around. I always had trouble finding a game there but when I did, I never felt the way I do when playing at Paradise or especially Party. I know bad beats happen, but it seems like at Paradise and Party I see too many runner runner drawouts, which in turn makes it seem "rigged" for lack of better wordage. I don't want to seem like a sore loser but I am on the verge of not playing online anymore unless I find a site that everyone seems to agree is on the up and up. I along with 4-5 other friends of mine always won the initial setting at a new site, then would always lose complete bankroll afterwards. Flopping AA full only to get beat by pocket JJ's then catching J on turn and J on river, things like that. How is Poker.com, Pokerstars, TruePoker, Ladbrokes, etc? Thanks in advance | ||

| Well, I think your going to get a ton of different answers because 'the best' is going to basically be a matter of personal opinion. For my vote I like Ultimatebet, largely due to the interface. Every other site I have tried has that fake table/player look and I just don't care for that. I feel like I can follow the game better on the UB interface. The drawback about UB is they don't have as large of a player base as Paradise or Party Poker and thus few games to choose from. UB does have quite a few daily tournaments as well as sit and go's. I have been considering trying Party Poker because I have heard the games are good. The interface is the only thing that has stopped me so far. As for as your thoughts on sites being rigged, I don't think you have to worry about that at the larger sites. Most of the games are low limits and the sites are making enough money straight up that it wouldn't be worth the risk to the operation to fix a 25/50c game. That doesn't mean that you won't run into collusion among players sometimes, but you are going to run that risk on all sites and even in brick and mortar rooms. Lee | ||

| I have played several of the sites in the past two years, and have recently returned to Planet Poker. It seems to me that sites that do not have multi table play (Planet and True Poker are my preference) have more beginner players ( or less Professionals). They certainly are more social than multi play sites. Players have more time to chat, and you don't have the annoying wait for some guy playing two games on two different sites, or four games at once. I've sometimes enjoyed the lively chat more than the game. The cards do appear random, with good game security. Online sites have many excellent players playing below their B&M limits, and some raving maniacs. You have to be objective and alert to figure out which is which. Collusion can be better controlled online vs. B&M casinos, because tech support can see the hands of any suspected cheaters, which cannot be done in a B&M casino. I play mostly low limits, up to 3/6, and don't believe collusion to be a major problem. What is a major problem, however, is goin on tilt. If you start chasing after losing a few hands, YOU ARE DEAD. The speed of online poker compounds the damage done when tilting. The more hands you play, the more beats you take. Probably more than half of the players in the average 3/6 game online has over 5,000 hours of poker experience. Mike Caro's "Law of Least Tilt" certainly applies. Online tournaments in my opinion, have much to offer. This cuts down on collusion (Don't know where you"ll be sitting), Maniacs can't hit and run ( its a tournament), very low entry fees compared to B&M, and you can't beat the toke expense when you win. Every night starts a new day for me, so hope to see you around campus after midnight, probably at Planet Poker. | ||

| I am with Lee for the exact same reasons, Ultimetbet has an outstanding interface ands the customer service is #1 in my opionon. Had one problem there and it was taking care of within 2 hours. Party Poker would be my second choice then Paradise. Just find what is comfortable to you and go with it. Try there free play to see how it feels to you. Peace Louied | ||

| Paradise best game choice and limit choice by far PokerStars best tourneys... Don't worry about cheating. If you think that is simplistic or wrong, take your money out of the stock market, never go to the racetrack, and by all means dont play three card monte... | ||

| As with most poker questions the answer is... drumroll please... "It depends". I play at most if not all of the online sites and they all have their strong points. I'm listing my #1 preferences below in different categories. My opinions: Multi-table tourneys: PokerStars (hands down the King of multi table) Live (ring) Games: PartyPoker (softest competition) Single table tourneys: Paradise (the NL single tables are very soft) Other Games: Planet. They offer draw, draw lowball, razz, etc. High $ action: WSEX (very high stakes games) Best single game: Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo at UltimateBet Those would be my choices. Play them all and decide for yourself which one(s) suit you best. Rick "DaVoice" Charles | ||
