Hey,

I was wondering if some of the more experienced tournament players could shed some light on proper strategy when close to the money (when stacks are approx. equal).

$2000 and $4000 blinds
4 players remaining - roughly equal stacks of about 25000-30000
3 spots paid ($800, $500, $300)
On the turn & river betting structure goes to no-limit

Should I just keep playing my normal game? What is the proper strategy?

I am in seat 1. Seat 2 and Seat 3 are solid players unwilling to get involved in a hand without premium cards. Seat 4 is a calling station.

My initial thoughts were: 1) wait for Seat 4 to get involved with Seat 2 or Seat 3 thereby, making the money 2) go after all of Seat 4 chips if I have a good hand 3) picking on Seat 2 and Seat 3's blinds was impossible because Seat 4 limped in UTG every hand.

Anyway, I went out on the bubble. SB calls and I am in BB with 94o. Headsup. Flop is: 4 7 T with two clubs. SB checks, I bet he calls.
Turn is 9 of clubs. He checks and I bet the pot all-in. He calls and eliminates me with 23c.
Thoughts?

Thanks,
JM
