Hoyle WSOP vs Wilson Software, Big Frank, 6. Nov 2002 13:53

I've played the WSOP on the Hoyle game (i think it's hoyle) and I've won it twice. I've got a swelled head and now I think I'm ready.
I called Carol at wilson software, and she said that Hoyle is easy to beat. Feeling deflated now, I want to ask y'all before I drop over a hundred buck on Wilson software and sidewinder sid what you all think about it. I tried the demo and loved it (I was on the correct call about 90% of the time), and I think it could really help my game.
I'm pretty sure I want the hold em game, not the tournament version
Comments?

I don't have any experience with the Hoyle program, but I do highly recommend the Wilson products. Good quality opposition, nice layout and good stats. You also have the ability to run tests on various hands and styles. Well work the money.

I spent a few evenings in front of the Hoyle game when first learning to play Hold 'Em.

I must agree that I've found Hoyle poker can be beat with straightforward by-the-book play. The computer opponents in fact have simple and predictable "personalities" -- too loose, very tight, constant bluffing -- that once discovered makes them fairly easy to read.

But I would say congrats on beating the game -- I think many, many of the 4/8 players in my area would be unable to achieve that.
