I am taking a trip to Vegas this week, and I am going to play low-limit seven card stud. Can anyone tell me which casino's have the best poker tables without the long waiting lists.

the excalibur ,mandalay bay and luxor all are very close and connected by a tram...good odds you`ll get seated immediately.

I went to Vegas for the first time a few month ago and had a good experience playing at Excalibur. (It was actually my first experience playing in a card room.) I played the $1-5 stud game and all the staff and players were very friendly. I usually played in the morning and I never had a problem getting a seat, but also never had to play in a short-handed game either. Even being nervous and inexperienced I still managed to break even for the week so it should be a good game for a better player. Hope that helps, have fun!

Thanks for the advice, I was worried I would get my head handed to me in Vegas. It appears sound play will be rewarded even if it is in Vegas.

You played at a low limit, did you ever try a higher limit to test your skills?

No, my wife was with me so gambling was not our first priority. (sounds crazy I know) I only had a limited time to play, but luckily she takes a long time to get ready so I was able to play a few hours most mornings while she got ready.

Thank you for your reply Jim, it sounds like the rooms I would like to play in. I have also heard the Orleans is another good casino to play poker in. Ever gone there?

I played at Excalibur last Thanksgiving. I noticed a couple of locals there but most of the time I was up against other tourists. I think if you are an average player that would be a good place to go as the biggest game was 2-6 (it probably has changed since then) and most of the sharks are going to go to the other casinos that have bigger games. Luxor also was running freeroll tournaments every night. Again, that was last year; but, it is something to look for.
