| I've been tryin to further my study of the game and get involved in a few live casino games. Whilst i've been playin quite a few online tournies, my studies and most of my initial success has centred around online structured cash games! To my dismay it seems that all of us Brits have a bit of a get rich quick attitude. You cant find a cash game over here for love nor money. All the games over here seem to be NO Limit or Pot Limit rebuy tourneys. There are a couple of Dealers choice games, but as i hav'nt learnt stud or omaha yet, I tend to stay away. I'm not sure if there are any posters from the UK, but if anybody knows of any regular HE cash games near or around Manchester i'd appreciate them passing it on. As for the live tourney's, I've played in 2 now and man is it a different world out there with real people. They play 11 handed tables, and both times I have been allotted the number 11 seat next to the dealer. I love the atmosphere of the live game and have even managed to meet up with a couple of Online opponents, but I cant seem to get a handle on whats going on. I cant see anyone in the early seats and for the first 15 minutes there are 9 or 10 people going all in on absolutely anything. Don't find many books that tell you how to play in this sort of environment. For the moment though i'm just sitting tight and watching. It can't be all bad though, becuase my local casino the "Grosvenor Salford" hosts some very good players and is the home of Julian Gardener, runner up of this years world series main event! It looks like i'm gonna have to satisfy myself with mastering the internet game for the next couple of years! Although it seems even might be difficult to do soon, with Paypal withdrawing there facility one online poker provider! Hopefully this is just a one off PR statement! HH | ||
