| Lets say you are in the big blind against a steal raise with QJ. You can play it this way let us say the flop comes 774. Check the flop. When the opponent bets call. Now if a T,9,8 comes on the turn. Bet into the steal raiser. Never bet when an Ace falls. Look for tells just do not do this automatically everytime as it will cost you if you are wrong. Let me know what you think. Play well and fun!!!! Hosh. | ||

| Duh. :) I'm still learning the psychological nuances of when to check-raise heads up and when not to. This usually causes me to err on the side of not check-raising enough. But this is a rather clear case. :) | ||

| I think this play has good value against unimaginative players! It loses a lot of value against experianced players who will read you and move on the play! Roy Cooke on 30. | I think good players have no defence against it. They cannot reraise you because of the pair and the ten with nothing. If you hit queen 9 8 this situation is the same. Only A K is dangerous. The pair blocks a lot of play against the hand. It will work against the best of players. If you get raised you can safely fold. He has a big pair no question about it. | ||
