In small blind in 4-8 holdem....holding JJ....loose player call in middle position to rock on button who raises...noticed BB looking disinterested in hand.....i decided to fold for reason that reraise wouldnt fold the loose player...also rock played especially tight and not too aggresivelly....my question is was i givin up too much folding in that situation? replies appreciated.....

I think you are giving up too much by folding that spot. Players tend to raise much looser when they have the button and JJ is a strong hand. Even if the caller doesn't fold he will be calling with a hand which plays bad against JJ. I would have reraised that spot and I don't think it is a close decision!

I would put this simply: Be much more agressive. call, and bet flop without overcards. You ned to find some books that talk about "selective aggression". Did you ever think that in first position you could take the rock off a good hand?

I agree with Roy totally here. I reraise to make the limper pay if he decides to come and lead at the flop unless I hit a J in a flop like AJ4. If the rock doesn't get help he is probably gone.
