| How does a rookie hold'em player find out about tournament information? Seems that all tournaments listed are the major ones in Nevada and California. Is there a site where smaller satellite tournaments are listed, or maybe a site where one can get info on tournaments around the midwest? Thanks for your time. chanks | ||

| Minnesota has a Card Club just southwest of Minneapolis in Shakopee at Canterbury Park. They have a number of tournaments for Hold em but I believe they are NL. The web site is www.canterburypark.com if you want more information. | ||

| actually, Canterbury has weekly tournaments, but not as many NL ones...usually just the first of every month... usually low buy-ins...variations of stud and Holdem (some shootouts on Sun.) - but I'll tell ya this...they move fast...a bit of a crapshoot, IMHO, although the October Tournament fest was a bit slower. As a rule, in Thurs limit tourney, by the time the field is reduced by half, the average number of chips a player should have (double their original stack) is only about 4*5 times the big blind. rb on 21. | Save your time the only players that think that Canterbury is a real poker room are those that live in MN - you have to go to AZ or CA to have a real poker experience. MN is a playing and proving grounds for beginners. | ||
