| I am taking a trip to Las Vegas and was wondering what the major hotels there offer in the way of poker room comps for hotels. | ||

| Every poker room can get you poker room rates which allow you to stay at that hotel cheaper. The room rates for the Bellagio and Mirage will still be cheap. But, nice places like the Monte Carlo, which has a small poker room, often offer rooms for less than $50 per night if you play 5 hours of poker per day. Getting comped at the Bellagio and Mirage poker rooms is a pain in the butt. They will usually only give you one comp per week. It gives you either a free buffet or a $10 food coupon. All the small rooms on the Strip will give you a comp every day worth between $4 and $6. | ||

| Casinos don't give poker players particularly good comps. Sometimes, it's advisable to sign up for the slot club, even if you don't play. Once or twice a year they might mail you a promotion that'd save you more money than any poker room comp. Poker rooms often give you a partial comp to the coffee shop, etc I'd play at more than one room a day in order to get multiple comps...then order the cheap meals on the menu. Some poker rooms, like Excalibur set out a free meal for their players in the room. Also, I'd only play in the rooms that over free giveaways...like the excalibur's wheel. I can't see how the excalibur makes any money off poker the way they give away money on their wheel. | ||
