Looking for a good hold em book, Jonathan Popp, 17. Oct 2002 01:30

Hello. I'm 18 years old and I play texas hold 'em with my friends. We play quarter ante, no limit hold 'em, and the most anybody wins/loses in a night is around 20 bucks. I've been playing poker for awhile and I'm starting to get the hang of texas hold 'em. I know you guys are adults and I'm just a kid playing a Thursday night game, but I was wondering if you guys could help me find a good book on no-limit texas hold 'em. I've read Mike Caro's Book of Tells and it's helped me quite a bit, but I'm still fuzzy on basic hold 'em strategy. Any responses would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think Hold'em Excellence is an excellent book as well, but would also recomend Lee Jones - Winning Low Limit Holdem to give you a solid grounding of the fundementals. The only thing these books lack is the differences in strategy required to play NL rather than structured limit games. I am currently checking out some info on Poker School Online regards NL but will also be in the market for the best reference for that form of the game. But I would recommend starting with the above books before going any further.

Regards
Harry

I have read Sklansky's HEPFAP and TOP , but find I'm now lacking understanding about NL poker when in those games.
Any recommendations for NL HE would be appreciated.

I;m posting a seperate thread to deal with the issues I struggle with.
