| I am new to poker(in a gaming environment) and I started with holdem and love it. I understand the basics but is there a strategy wagering? Are there books on the subject or do I learn by playing? | ||

| For a beginner, I recommend Lou Krieger's books ("Hold'em Excellence" and "More Hold'em Excellence") as well as Lee Jones book "Winning Low Limit Hold'em". Lee's book is especially well-written and is tailor made for beating low-limit "no foldem, holdem" games. | ||

| "Winning Low Limit Hold 'em" is a good book. I would also suggest Gary Carson's book "The Complete Book of Hold'em Poker." I think this book is very good for beginners, though it is a little more "advanced" than "HE Excellence" or WLLHE. I think it addresses some important, and generally neglected, ideas about low limit HE, as well as giving you a framework for thinking about different game conditions. This is a must read after WLLHE Jeff | ||
