| I am in a dealers choice game once a week. My choices are 5-stud (roll your own), draw, 7-stud, 6 stud. What game gives me the greatest advantage? Also are there higher winning hands in 4,5, 6,7 handed games? Thanks | ||

| Draw would give you (the dealer) the greatest advantage since you would act last before and after the draw. This assumes all players have roughly equal skills. The winning hand will be stronger on average as the number of players increases. | ||

| Draw would be your best game as the position advantage of the dealer is fixed! Roy Cooke on 3. Oct 2002 11:31 DON wrote: > I am in a dealers choice game once a week. But, if each dealer only chooses a game for one hand of poker, then the games that give you the biggest advantage are the ones where you're guaranteed the best position throughout the betting -- like draw poker or hold 'em. Since the dealer chooses, he should select a game where he always acts last, being able to see what opponents do before making a decision. That's called positional advantage. Your five-stud, six-stud, and seven-stud choices are very bad if your selection only lasts for one hand, because in those games the order of the first and last bettor is unknown and is decided randomly according to the exposed cards. Great question, though. Thanks for posting. Straight Flushes, Mike Caro | ||
