| Firstly no need for reply's on this one, I just so badly need to rant! As a few of you know, i'm very, very slowly building up my lil bank winning a few bucks here and there. Well anyway's last couple of nights I've been takin some real bad beats from some god awful players. However, I thought I was controlling my emotions really well - alway's being nice or just staying silent - No Tilt... or so I thought. So I gets knocked out of a 20 buck tourney on the river by someone who had been play 10-5 suited heads up since the flop. Still " Nice game, good hand." Without any notice whatsoever, my blood rushes, my brain switches off and I go jump into a 5-10 game with no knowledge of the players I'm up against. Ok I should be able to survive at this level, but oh no - taking Pocket K's to the river with a man making four bets with 3 hearts on the board..slow playing a set to get outdrawn by a straight etc .280 bucks for the worse after 2 hours, turn off the PC and head for bed muttering about how unlucky i was. LOL So a good nights sleep and i'm back steadily playin and winning in my initial low limit games. Still I know you gotta watch that tilt monster now, he'll creep up on ya when ya least expect it.....hehe | ||

| This is more of general info. than a reply. On Cardplayer.com Brian Mullholland wrote an interesting article about "semitilting", sometimes you don't realize your tilting because it happens it builds up over hours, in small degrees. I think this "semitilting" might be responsible for some losses I recently incurred while playing online against some really bad players. Knowing is half the battle. Mark | ||

I did that today in a 10-20 game. Suddenly I was finding myself playing 56s to the river and betting into a set of aces. Well, at least he ONLY CALLED. And he slow rolled me, but he thought I had a straight (?!). I guess that's OK. :) OK,OK, so it was capped 9-way action (and I never called more than one bet at a time), so I could draw for a backdoor straight/flush on the flop. I mean, what can't you draw at for a price of 47:1?! Unfortunately I made a running two-pair. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Still, that misadventure straightened me up and I cashed out a modest winner for the day. Let that be a lesson to you. | ||
