| What is a get starting session for $1-5, 5-10, 10-20. I know you should have a bankroll and pull from it. But is $200 to small to play in an average 5-10 game. I am a tight aggressive player | ||

| As a single session playing bankroll, I think $200 is fine for $5-$10. But if you are going to spend a lot of time playing at this level, I believe you need a total bankroll (dedicated to poker - that is winnings go into it and losses come out of it) of at least $1500. If you are a beginner, I think you should start at an even lower level like $3-$6 or $4-$8 for holdem and $1-$5 for stud. For books aimed at novices, I like Lee Jones book "Winning Low Limit Holdem" or one of Lou Krieger's books. For beginning stud players, I like Roy West's book "7 Card Stud In 42 lessons". | ||

| I usually start with $200 in a 5-10 game with about another $400 in my pocket. If the game is good I may go into the game for the full $600, but it has to be good. If I think the players are outplaying me in any way then I get the heck out and find a better game, usually takes me about $400 to get it into my head.
