| > > Question #2 On a 10 handed hold'em gane, what are the odds or chances of two > players having pocket pairs both flopping sets? > Given that we know the 2 players have different pocket pairs, there are 48 cards left. There are 2 of each pair's rank remaining which must be chosen and the remaining card can be chosen from among the other 46 cards, so there are 2*2*46 = 184 ways of flopping the 2 sets out of a total of C(48,3) = 17296 different flop possibilities. Dividing the first number by the second number gives us a probability of about 1.06 % and an odds of 93:1 against both players flopping a set (again, given that the 2 players have a pair to start with). | ||
