| Hello all you poker junkies, I am new to live casino type poker and was wondering if scheduling some breaks into your session is a good idea or should you just take one when you think you need it.I like to try and have a good game plan before I even leave the house to go play. And was just wondering if scheduling a break say every two hours regardless of how the session is going.I havent tried it yet and was just wanting some opions.Any other session game plan tips would also be much appreciated as again i am new to this type of play.I have only logged about 60 hours of live play in the last 8 monthes. Thanks in advance Blake | ||

| Hey Blake, You Prolly already read it. But i think that part of your answer may be in the thread (Managing a Session). From my take of it, if the game is good and you are doing well at that point, don't leave the game. Little story: I was playing in a game doing very, very well. Seat 6 got called to another game and someone took his seat. The game he went to was full and he came back wanting his seat back. He started a big fuss over it. Being a nice guy and trying to cut all the bs out, I said take my seat till your other game opens up. Needless to say after 30 min the seat opens back up, I take my seat and the game turned bad on me. I kicked myself in the butt for that. My image was good and I was on a roll before I left. I dunno if it helps ya. But I reflected back to what Mike, Roy, Harry and other's where saying in the the managing session thread . Louie D | ||

| Hi blake I take breaks when I feel I need one rather than scheduling them. That way I play when I am in the mood and can take breaks when poker gets to me or I need to take a mental breather. In making the decision to use that method...make sure you take them when you need to! Don't get caught up in the moment. Roy Cooke on 24. | I was talking to a doctor one day at the table and he suggested taking a ten minute walk after sitting for an hour to keep your blood moving. Since (I believe about) 30% of the oxygen in your blood is used by your brain any attempt to increase circulation should improve your thinking ability. On your walks don't think about poker at all. Mental breaks like this have been demonatrated to improve memory of, concentration on, and creativity regarding the task at hand.
