| I would appreciate feedback on wether I could have played the following hand any better as it eventually lead to my exit from the tourney. It was played online in a 10 seater NLHE tourney. 5 players remaining I was chip leader with 3250 chips (outta 10,000 at the table) Cuttoff had 1510 chips (i had him down as loose aggresive) I was in SB position and dealt Qh-Js Blinds were 100/200 UTG folds, Cuttoff Raises to 400, Button Folds, I call, BB folds Flop comes 2h, 3h, 5h I have him down for a Ax and bet out 400 on the strength of my draw which he calls. Turn brings 8h I bet 400 he re-raises all in, I call 310. River is blank he shows up Kh, 6d and wins the pot. My read was right, but should I have given him credit for something like the Ah at an earlier time. I felt I should've known this, but because i'm tightening up, I feel i'm alway's getting pushed off my blinds. So when I do play them, I tend to play them through to the river. Does this hand show any weakness or was it just bad luck? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks HH | ||

| You should have folded in a heartbeat. You were the chip leader and the blinds weren't making a dent in your bankroll. There was no reason to be in that hand even if you thought players were taking advantage of you tight play. Remember they knew you were the chip leader and probably thought of you as a good player. You have to be cognisent (sp?) of the payoffs also. With only 5 players left, and you having 1/3 of the money, you were almost gauranteed of being in the money. I have the same problem myself. I feel bad when I have a hand that I want to play and get a raise from a late position bettor. I feel worse, though, if I call all the way to the riverand find out I was beat from the beginning. The only other thing you could have done is reraise him all-in. Would he have called? Maybe, but I doubt it. A call though, definitely, not a good idea. | ||
