| today I was playing an on line NLHE tourney today. I was bottom stack late in the second round. I was dealt AKs in the big blind. it was folded around to the small Blind who raised. This guy had been involved in about 5 all in pots in the first 1.5 rounds and had been all in once or twice himself. I wanted to know what you guys think I should do and how to best go about it. Oh yeah it was on Planet Poker. ;-) Ill let you know what happened in a day or two. timmer | ||

| Hi Timmer You do not give the chip situations or payouts of the tournament which is key in all tournament decisions. That said, I am almost certain my decision would be to play the hand. If I didn't have many chips left I would be moving it all in. Roy Cooke on 8. Sep 2002 08:18 timmer wrote: > today I was playing an on line NLHE tourney today. | Ok, I was small stacked but had about 85% of my starting chips left. I didnt want to get alot af chips in play this early with out a solid hand . ANyway the small blind raise the amount of my blind bet making it T4 more to play ( in the T2.00 /T4.00 round) there was now T14 in the pot. My intention was to raise the pot by T28 making it T42 and hopefully take it down or see the flop produce a good pair good kicker, top two or some such hand (Like A's with a srtaight flush draw ;-). I was having a problem getting the applet to take the T28 raise and the time out bells were knelling . after laboring in futility once more I mashed the all in button raising the pot by T127 making it T141. My opponent called my all in bet in a new york minute. the software rolled em over to reveal the QTd in my opponents hand. the flop was diamond / A / diamond with no clubs . the turn ragged off and I guess you can figure out what the river was. A diamond the question is, did the all in bet make a difference. after discussing the hand with my brother, a frequent NL tourney player, we decided that it didnt and that the opponent would of gone down the river regardless However I dont know if I would of . Heads up with top pr best kicker but facing a two odd suited board I definetly would of played a bit slower as I would be fairly unwilling to get *all* my chips in so early with somthing like the hand I held. | ||
