Are all internet sites raking at the same rate (approx5%) or are some offering lower rates or happy hours ??
Anyone know and if none are , then why not because it would sure help to attract me to the site and I'm sure a whole heap of other players.
Any views on this?

I think the rake is less important than the structure of the games .if you are playing a sound starting game for that particular structure and play well through the river you should do very well indeed.

I find the structure of OL ante games to be loose to ludicrious. Thus requiring a bigger BR to play properly and driving up the cost per player hour. The only reedeeming factor is more hands and worst overall play which both equate to a increase in hourly profit expectation for the superiour player.

One site (party poker ) pays 10% intrest for money held in your players bank (*WITH RESTRICTIONS*) this goes along way in offsetting the rake. Planet offers a point system which allows you to play in a free roll tourney that offers cash prizes. these prizes can be seen as a equitable offset to the rake.

So, you see it is the structure and the promos (read comps) that become formost (IMHO) and are just a few of many deciding factors to play one sight rather than another. Especially being that the rakes/blinds are usually similar.

"One site (party poker ) pays 10% intrest for money held in your players bank " It sound interesting. I looked at their homepage but I didnt find anything that supports your statement. I might have missed it, just looked briefly.

So is there a limit on the amount I can earn in intrest... do I need to play certain amount of hours... tell me more about it

Hi, Andrew --

There may be exceptions that I'm unaware of, but generally most online sites are charging MUCH less than five percent on rakes. (This is also true for real-world casinos.) This is true because there is a "cap" on the size of the pot that is eligible for a rake. Beyond that, there is no rake.

Some players cite the fact that you don't have to tip dealers as an advantage to playing online, while others think that the absense of traditional tells and reduced face-to-face psychological warfare make online play less appealing.

Straight Flushes,
Mike Caro

Caps at $1.35 + $0.15 = $1.5.

Seems only to offer 8 player max tables.

I have no experience with the place. It's fairly new.
