Fun hand at a fun table

Scene is a 1-3 Stud table at Taj yesterday. Typical table, small pots, everybody checks a lot for free cards all the way to seventh street. All have fun, laughing and scratching. One seat open. Comes a gentleman who takes the open seat. Begins to play every hand aggressively, check raises and re-raises are his style. Lady matches his raises with calls. Aggressive gent at seventh street proudly displays and announces with a flourish his ace high flush. Lady shows full house, takes huge pot. Applause and congrats from players present. There can be fun in Pokerlandia.

Poker is suppossed to be a fun game at the recreational levels. It can be fun from a compedative sense at the higher limits also.

Life is to enjoy :-)

I was playing heads up with the gentleman to my immediate left, 1-3 Stud at the Taj a couple of days ago, and I was aggressive with my strong bets of my (AK)AK two pair, as I saw only treys and fours in his upcards. At seventh street I showed my two high pair with a flourish, and he showed 333-44, and I laughed and laughed, and my fellow player shook my hand for my not going on tilt. Even the dealer appreciated the humor and was smiling broadly. I have to stop falling in love with my own hands and pay closer attention to my opponent's upcards even if they do look unthreateningly low.! I also have the habit of thanking my fellow players when I leave the table, thanking them for their company and pleasant ambient. Hey, I want them to see me as unthreatening when we meet again. {smile}
