| Hi, everyone -- Phyllis (my wife) and I are just getting settled in at our remote outpost in the Ozarks. She remains director of poker operations at Hollywood Park Casino, but visits every two weeks or more. I'm establishing a remote Mike Caro University of Poker (MCU) campus here, and will eventually give lessons, for those serious and brave enough to venture into the wilderness and study poker without actually playing poker for money. MCU labs is also here now, so all our new poker research will come from Shell Knob, Missouri. We're thinking of putting together learn-and-leisure packages, as there's plenty to do here in the forest on Table Rock Lake, with Branson, Missouri and Eureka Springs, Arkansa -- both major tourist attractions -- only minutes away. So, if you were wondering what happened to me... well, I'm back on line and eager to get UPF going on our official opening day! Straight Flushes, Mike Caro | ||

| Sounds like you are busy and having fun! I love Table Rock Lake--I used to vacation at Eagle Rock and Table Rock all the time. Great area. Glad you are back posting on the forum! | ||

| Got a question for you Mike. Where could one procure a copy of your book Odds: Quick and Simple? It has been out of print awhile and I haven't seen it online. I am sure there are some real gems in it! | ||

| Thanks for the link. However, unfortunately, they don't have it stocked. I have been on the preorder waiting list for some time and they haven't found any used sources yet. One day maybe. I would love to find a place with it in stock. Do you have any articles on that information on your MCU website Mike? I have some problems calculating odds reliably and quickly at the table, hence the reason I wanted your book. :) | ||

| Oh, sorry. I just did a quick search and was trying to be helpful. Didn't realize you'd already been there. Barricade Books has a Web page, http://www.barricadebooks.com/, with a phone number. The company seems to be associated with or owned by Lyle Stuart. You might try phoning and asking how to reach Lyle Stuart Publishing. And this might help: "Carol Publishing--whose imprints included Birch Lane Press, Citadel Press and Lyle Stuart--filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November. The company's assets, including its book contracts, were sold at auction to Kensington Publishing Corp. last month. " (http://www.nwu.org/book/carol.htm) | ||

Hi, mickblueeyes -- Assuming yours is a legitimate question and not a needle (because there are so many projects I announced and didn't follow through on)... The book hasn't been written yet. It was first announced about 1984. It's "coming soon." Straight Flushes, Mike Caro | ||

| So how did it get listed on Amazon? And with a review, yet? (Publisher: Lyle Stuart; ASIN: 0897460308; (February 1985): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0897460308/qid%3D1029966170/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-2682370-3212007#product-details) -- The smartass kid in the front row with his hand up on 21. | Nope, legitimate question. I thought it had been written since I am on the "used copy" waiting list with Amazon. I am starting to get confused! LOL! So, Does this book exist? If not, when can we expect it? :) | ||

| Mike, Welcome to Missouri! I look foward to participating in any seminars that you put on in our part of the world. Also, I would like to be among the first to invite you to our 2 St. Louis area poker rooms, President and Ameristar(brand new). | Hello Dutch I am also from St. Louis and am glad to see another poker enthusiast in the area. I would like to get your thoughts on the Ameristar and President. I have played at both but mostly the President late at night on weekends. Overall I found it enjoyable with minor glitches but overall good time. However Ameristar seems to have many issues. I have only played there twice once before and once after the grand re-opening. I found the new poker room a mess of problems. It may be just working out the bugs so I thought I would get your opinion. Also Are you aware of or interested in any home games in the area. I would like to find a regular game or start one myslef. Currently I am a low limit player (1-5 stud and 3-6 hold'em) Mike welcome back and look forward to seeing you up this way as well. | ||

| Mike as you may have read previously that I am part of the pokerschool online...I`d really fancy the idea of putting together advanced weekend classes for each major game played as well as nolimit and potlimit tourney concepts and strategies for advanced players.. NO I`m not intruding on Dave and Masons turf, just stating its advanced players that the weekend courses would be geared towards.. jim | ||
