First, the forum is off to a great start and looks like it will be a great resource. Good Luck and Congratulations.

Now my question, will the threads of messages from poker forum becom part of a newgroup, ie rec.gamblimg.poker
The reason I ask is that I find it more convenient to download the RGP messages to my PALM for offline reading away from the computer. It would be great if this was possible with the poker forum messages also. I realize one of the setbacks would be that the advertisements would not be flashed at me, and I can appreciate that the ads are what will keep this forum going. Maybe an interface from the website could be utilized to allow the uploading of the messages to a palm pilot, then you woul be served the ads as you set up for the PALM sync. Just a question and a thought.

Hi, Monk463 --

Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier. I'm just getting relocated in the Ozarks.

To answer your question, our previous forum software (which never was configured to work effectively) did have the capability of being accessed as a Usenet group (traditional, non-Web, Internet newsgroup). But you had to devote your newsreader, when opened, to just the single task of accessing that one group. We put up instructions, but hardly anyone was using the feature.

I agree with you that this is useful for some people, including myself. Unfortunately, we don't yet have that capability with this software, but I personally like the feature set and ease of use in general, otherwise.

Straight Flushes,
Mike Caro
